Debra Lucero, CEO of Butte County EDC developed "Ag Speed Dating" where 24 producer/growers "date" 12 potential buyers. The event was enormously successful producing 86 NEW business connections in 2011 and 240 NEW business connections in 2012 - a 179% increase. In 2012, 13 deals were made on the spot and dozens were reported in the works. The Butte County event grew - eventually reaching the counties of Humboldt, Yuba, Sutter and Shasta.
